Octavo. Pp. xx, 400. Stated third edition, but not dated. The first edition was in 1830, and the second in 1831; this Preface is dated 1832. Worcester calls himself "editor of the American Edition of Webster's Dictionary," although his rivalry with Webster led to accusations of plagiarism. A very good copy, in diced calf boards rebacked in calf with gilt label. Small tape repair to early blank, and small area of light discoloration to title page, else internally fine. Wear to extremities of cover. Two early bookplates. Binding signed "White in Piccadilly.".
