Sold by subscription. Thick, heavy quarto (26cm); publishers embossed cloth-covered boards, titled in gilt on spine; page edges marbled; 1003pp; text illus; numerous inserted leaves of plates. Binding slightly rubbed and soiled, with some fraying to cloth a board edges, but still a complete, well-preserved, Very Good copy. A massive biblical miscellany, clearly intended to rival the good book itself for shelf-space in the Victorian American reading room, and even including blank leaves for recording births, deaths, christenings, and other genealogical data (unused in our copy).
