This book explores the use of composite rebars—especially Fiber Reinforced Polymers (FRPs)—as a modern structural solution in concrete construction, offering a comprehensive analysis of their mechanical behavior, durability, and performance. It presents the latest research on material properties, concrete compatibility, and real-world applications in structures such as tunnels, tanks, and bridges. Emphasizing the benefits of FRPs, including corrosion resistance, high tensile strength, and lightweight design, the book provides valuable insights into the future of reinforced concrete engineering.
Prof. Grzegorz Lesiuk
Professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Poland. His research focuses on fracture and fatigue mechanics, durability of materials under cyclic and static loads, and modelling of new materials.
Dr. José A.F.O. Correia
Researcher at CONSTRUCT and INEGI, University of Porto, Portugal, and Guest Teacher at Delft University of Technology, Netherlands. His research interests include structural integrity, fatigue and fracture of materials, and safety of large structures.
Prof. Shun-Peng Zhu
Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC). His research covers fatigue reliability design, probabilistic failure modeling, multi-physics damage modeling, and life prediction of materials.
Prof. Hermes Carvalho
Professor of Steel and Composite Structures at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil, and Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Porto, Portugal. His research focuses on dynamic and fatigue assessment of bridges and steel structures, rehabilitation of structures, and structural health monitoring.
Kayode Olaleye
PhD student at the Department of Mechanics, Materials and Biomedical Engineering, Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Poland. His research interests include ballistic impact, nonlinear dynamics of materials, composite structures, and finite element modelling.
