This set is No. 1655.Complete with the publisher's original unclipped dust wrappers.Offering a delightful compilation of the works of Francois Rabelais, a French author widely regarded as the first great French prose author. He is best known for his pentalogy of novels relating to the childhoods of giants named Gargantua and Pantagruel and his distinctive satirist depictions of the grotesque.Rendered into English by Sir Thomas Urquhart and Peter Motteux, annotations by Duchat, Ozell and others and a new introduction by J.
