1904. Second and Revised Edition. 352 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth with gilt lettering. Contains black and white photographic plates. Deckled edges. Pages are mildly tanned with heavy foxing. Notable cracking to hinges, however binding remains firm. Mild thumb-marking present. Boards have light edgewear with corner crushing and mild marking to boards. Chapter Headings include the Evolution of the Motor-Car, Some Types of Petrol Car, Steam Cars, Electric Cars, The use & running of a Motor Car, The Motor Car Abroad, Concerning Tyres. etc. The final Chapter entitled: The open Road is the Authors experience as passenger to the Racing Driver Charles Jarrott during Eliminating Trials for the Gordon Bennett Race of 1904. The Book although apparantly Ex.Lib is in very good condition , it's had the fly leaf pasted back to the inside front cover and there is evidence of a label having been there .
