Undated hardback (circa mid 20th century) with no jacket. Dark green embossed (faux leather) boards are generally very good with some very minor wear to edges. The binding has been strained after the half title page and the gutter has cracked to reveal the mesh beneath but the binding is tight, no annotations or inscriptions, text and illustartions clean and clear throughout. Seventeen full colour illustrations, 64 pages of plates and numerous illustrations in the text - the hand-painted plates (mostly courtesy of Bees) are really charming.
