A note from author Desiree Botha:

From the moment that my parents laid my first Boerboel pup in my arms, I was in love with the breed. I was also only two at the time, so I have to admit that I would have fallen in love with any puppy that I had the privilege to hold. But my love affair with the Boerboel breed has continued throughout my life right from that moment on.

These massive, extremely intelligent and fiercely protective dogs are impossible not to love. Yet, the things that make them great can also become a new pet-parents biggest challenge. If you don’t know what to expect from your new Boerboel puppy it can cause a lot of unnecessary challenges. And maybe even some heartache. So come with me as I share some of the things that I have learnt through the years with you. I have many Boerboels that I have loved and eventually lost, and along the way I have learnt a thing or two.

So by sharing this knowledge with new and prospective Boerboel owners, I hope I can give you the best chance to create a lasting bond and a really happy life for both you and your Boerboel puppy.
