If you are considering bringing an Aussiedoodle into your home (or already have!) then you need to read this book as soon as possible!
Aussiedoodles, sometimes known as Aussie-poos, are a fairly new designer dog. They were developed by combining Australian Shepherds with Poodles, two dog breeds that are known for their intelligence, adaptability, and devotion. The offspring of the two, the Aussiedoodle, exemplifies these traits and has quickly gained a devoted following.
Although the temperament of this mix tends to be predictable—devoted, playful, loving, and energetic—Aussiedoodles range widely in size, appearance, and type of coat. This guide will explain why that is and give you all the tools you need to help you locate the right dog to fit your needs. Once you have chosen the perfect canine companion, this book will provide practical guidance on how to create the ideal environment for your dog to thrive physically, emotionally, and mentally. Learn the answers to such crucial questions as:
- Is an Aussiedoodle the right dog for me?
- What health certifications will my Aussiedoodle need?
- How do I avoid making common mistakes?
- How much training and socialization is involved with raising an Aussiedoodle?
The Complete Guide to Aussiedoodles is a wellspring of information that you will reach for over and over. It provides valuable insights on caring for this unique designer dog, from the search for your perfect canine companion to the proper care of your aging Aussiedoodle, including valuable facts about:
- The history of the Aussiedoodle and its parent breeds
- The Aussiedoodle temperament
- Choosing the right puppy or rescue dog
- How to prepare your home for your new Aussiedoodle
- Introducing your Aussiedoodle to established household pets
- House-training your Aussiedoodle
- Making the most of your first few weeks
- The benefits of good socialization
- Training techniques for Aussiedoodles, including basic commands
- Guidance for more advanced training opportunities
- How to keep your enthusiastic Aussiedoodle busy
- Nutrition, diet, and your Aussiedoodle
- The best methods for grooming the Aussiedoodle coat
- Aussiedoodle health and aging concerns
The in-depth exploration of this lively and intelligent designer dog by Vanessa Richie is required reading for anyone who shares their life with an Aussiedoodle.
