Original brown decorative stamped cloth hard covers, with gilt titling to spine. Yellow endpapers. Some light rubbing to extremities; mild superficial staining to covers. Edges toned. Neat ink inscription to front free endpaper: "Mrs. E. E. Taylor / Aylmer / Nov. 1848." This is most likely Aylmer, Ontario, near London. Front hinge just starting at top inside, but utterly firm. Some foxing to frontispiece and engraved title-page. Otherwise clean, tight and unmarked. Very neat -- a sound and handsome book, really in remarkably preserved condition.
