Meet the Brontë sisters – Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights and the complete novels retold for ages 7–11, plus their remarkable life story.
From the haunted Yorkshire moors to the towering battlements of Thornfield Hall, this eight-book collection brings the Brontë sisters' famous stories of love, courage and self-discovery to young readers. Children will stand up for themselves alongside plain, brave Jane Eyre, roam the wild moors with Cathy and Heathcliff, and – uniquely – discover the novels almost never adapted for children: Villette, Shirley, The Professor, Agnes Grey and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. This is the complete Brontë canon in one box, with a QR code in every book linking to a free audiobook.
The adaptations are by Stephanie Baudet, an author of around forty children's books who works closely with schools and has been part of the Sweet Cherry list for over a decade. The collection is illustrated throughout by Arianna Bellucci, whose atmospheric artwork carries readers from the parsonage at Haworth to the windswept heights.
The eighth book sets this collection apart: The Life of the Brontë Sisters tells the true story of three sisters who wrote in secret under men's names and changed literature forever – a ready-made KS2 resource on significant women writers. For gift buyers, it is a complete literary heritage in one slipcase – the natural companion to Sweet Cherry's Jane Austen collection.
Ideal for:
- Ages 7–11 · Key Stage 2 (Years 3–6)
- KS2 topic work on significant women in history
- School and classroom library collections
- Fans of the Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights films
- Pairing with the Jane Austen Children's Stories set
- Birthday and Christmas gifts
Sweet Cherry Easy Classics adapts timeless stories into accessible illustrated books for children. From Sweet Cherry Publishing – Children's Publisher of the Year 2022.
