A scarce early 19th Century printing of this most famous of all books on fishing. 383pp plus 1 p advert, rather worn full green leather binding with elaborate gilt decs, all edges gilt, book ribbon, raised bands to spine. Illustrated throughout with engravings. Neat ink inscr. (Eton College) to ffep & dated 1827. Of special interest to Walton collectors will be the loosely inserted 1820s authenticated copy of Izaak Walton's baptism certificate (1593) signed (original signature) by the Rector of St Mary's Parish Church, Stafford, Graham Edward Coldwell.
