Contains 18 hand-coled folding maps. Internally fine, in dark green straight-grain morocco, with gilt fillets and inner dentelles. A.e.g. WITH A FORE-EDGE PAINTING SHOWING STATE STREET, BOSTON, depicted at the time of publication (although the painting is more recent). Fore-edge paintings of Boston are quite rare. Of the 214 shown on the Boston Public Library website, only eleven show American scenes, and of those only two show Boston. Rubbing to spine and extremities, else fine. Bookplate.
