At the time of its publication no work of this kind relating to Liverpool had hitherto appeared. The author thought this short treatise may be found useful to the Town Council, the Dock Trustees, and the Railway Directors in their deliberations, as well as to the Merchants, Brokers, and others, for reference. // This is a 'cloth-bound' 1st edition hardback in fair condition-I suspect that both 'end-papers' have been replaced & the cloth to the cover is 'rubbed' & the title page has been written on. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TEXT, its just the endpapers. (208 pages & 4 pages of book advertisments).
