Veteran Las Vegas entertainment writer Ron Delpit turns his wise guy wit and staccato style into one of the year's most intriguing and heart pounding thrillers in his new novel, The Colossus Conspiracy.

In the spirit of Wise Guys and Casino Delpit takes you behind the neon of Sin City and into the Mafia boardroom as the five major crime families fight for a chance to take control of Las Vegas' biggest and most glamorous casino, The Colossus.

However, before any of them can get permission to move in on The Colossus, they must overcome two major obstacles.

First, they must convince "Colossus" owner Adam Forrester to sell the hotel he loves, and which he built from the ground up. Secondly, the anointed Family must take control of the casino within six months, with or without Forrester's blessing.

What ensues is a high speed, non-stop roller coaster ride that catapults readers into a three-headed battle between Adam Forrester's sexy young wife, Diana, his naïve but determined fashion designer daughter, Tiffany, and the Mob.

Adding to the ingredients are Forrester's trusted friend and longtime Chicago lawyer, Walter Thurston, Jack of Alll Trades Brian Powers and relentless Detective Don Sarabian.

Together, with the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas, they make up the cast of the year's sexiest and most unpredictable mystery.

The Colossus Conspiracy delivers everything you'd expect from Las Vegas, and more. The story is littered with the Neon Jungle's real problems, from the mob to money laundering. From hookers to million dollar high rollers.

The Colossus Conspiracy is as Las Vegas as neon and green felt.

Ron Delpit is a veteran entertainment writer who has rubbed elbows with everyone from Frank Sinatra, Elvis and Howard Hughes to real-life Mafia hit men during his twenty-five years in Las Vegas. The Colossus Conspiracy is his second book. His first, By Blood Betrayed, was a paperback best seller.

A former syndicated entertainment columnist as well as a critic for The Hollywood Reporter and editor for Gannett newspapers in New York, Delpit incorporates his wealth of knowledge about Las Vegas, its entertainers, its hotels and their ruthless Strip Wars into this fictionalized murder mystery that gives readers a rare glimpse behind the glitz, glamour and gaming that is Las Vegas.

Delpit is also an ex-sports writer and college athlete. An injury cut short a promising baseball career but gave birth to his entry into the business side of sports as a player agent in the early 1970's.

The late Sammy Davis probably summed it up best when he said, "Ron Delpit is that rare breed of cat who not only knows where the bodies are buried; he knows who buried them. He is as Vegas as neon and green felt."

Ron Delpit is also a past president of Nevada Special Olympics and currently resides in Las Vegas.
