Paperback. The Crossroads Legacy follows Dr. Simone Baptiste, a Black Creole surgeon in 1970s New Orleans who has spent years passing as white to survive in medicine and society. When she becomes entangled with a rootworker named Zeke and a web of murder, forced sterilization, and spiritual inheritance, she must choose between the false safety of her old life and the truth of her identity, family, and power. The story blends historical fantasy, Southern gothic atmosphere, romance, and mystery, while centering themes of identity, ancestral memory, racial passing, and the cost of secrecy.
