Following an "external to internal" presentation, each chapter of this atlas begins by describing the anatomical structure of the organs in a systematic manner, before moving on to regional anatomy. The examination of both superficial and deeper layers should make this text well-suited to students. Cross-sectional anatomy is becoming increasingly important, especially to clinicians, and additional MRI and CAT scans have been included to meet this need. The atlas is prefaced by a short introductory chapter which explains modern diagnostic imaging modalities.
Synopsis: The new edition of this awesome, stunning atlas (2nd, 1988) is improved with new macrophotos, schematic drawings, and CT-scans and MR-images (providing a more detailed outline on cross-sectional anatomy, particularly of the extremities). Annotation copyright Book News, Inc. Portland, Or.
