Language: English. Approximately 486 pages. English: Print-on-demand reprint. Original edition : c1910. Text in English. This monumental work provides an in-depth examination of global colonial empires at the dawn of the 20th century. The authors analyze the political, economic, and social structures of major colonial powers and their territories, offering a comprehensive overview of imperial governance, resource exploitation, and colonial administration. The volume includes detailed case studies of British, French, Dutch, and other European empires, as well as their interactions with indigenous populations. A particularly valuable feature is the extensive bibliography (pages 395-412), which serves as an essential research tool for historians and scholars of imperialism. This study remains a foundational text for understanding the complexities of early 20th-century colonialism. Book images are non-contractual.
