Jacket has vertical tears to each spine edge from the bottom, pages clean, boards and binding very good. Many books have been written on the collecting of antiques; yet, as one would expect from the author, this one is different. It sets out to summarize not only the different sorts of 'collecting' but to review the different sorts of collectors; collectors of long ago; collectors of more recent times and collectors of today. With the exception of postage stamps and match-box lids it covers just about the whole field - furniture, pictures, prints, china, silver, clocks, glass, sheffield plate, jade, chessmen, battersea enamels, faience, and a multitude of by-ways of the connoisseur's world.
