Vols. 4, 5 & 6 ONLY (missing vols. 1, 2 &3 for complete set). 363 [2]p; 336p; 336p. 18 cm full leather binding with black and gilt labels on spine. Ex-library with labels affixed to front endpapers. Front board nearly detached from vol. 6, front board detached from vol. 5 and both boards detached from vol. 4. Wear and darkening to spine, wear along edges and bumped corners. Binding in need of repair. Some browning to endpapers and title pages. Text pages clean. Text unmarked. Sold "as-is." Vols. 4 is undated, 5 is from 1766, and 6 from 1758. Were uniformly bound by a prior owner. are from an earlier printing in 1770. The final 3 volumes available in this offer include poems by a variety of well known 18th century British poets, including: Gray's "An Elegy Written in a Country Church Yard"; Samuel Johnson's "The Vanity of Human Wishes"; Henry Fielding's "A Letter to Sir Robert Walpole"; Dr. Ibbot's "A Fit of the Spleen"; Alsop's "Dialogue to Chlorinda"; and William Whitehead's "Ode to the Tiber.".
