This lovely collection includes the volumes The Penguin Book of English Verse and The Penguin Book of Welsh Verse. The Penguin Book of English Verse celebrates seven centuries of English verse. This definitive anthology reflects the wonderfully diverse voices and concerns of successive generations of poets and the evolving poetic landscape through the ages. Welsh literature is not so dependent on the academies as it used to be. It?s intellectual basis is probably surer of itself now than at anytime since the Tudors. Two poetry classics to delve into! Titles: The Penguin Book of English and Welsh Verse Authors: Edited by John Hayward, translated with an introduction by Anothony Conran Publisher: Penguin Publication Date: 1967-8 Format: Paperbacks Condition: These books are in good condition for their age other than some minor signs of wear inducing an inscription inside the cover.
