The Collected Poems of Rupert Brooke is a comprehensive compilation of lyrical verse written by the influential early 20th-century English poet. The book features his famous sequence of five war sonnets from 1914—most notably The Soldier—which captured the romanticized idealism, youthful fervour, and sacrifice of the early war period. Nature and the English Countryside: Many poems celebrate the tranquil beauty of rural England, homesickness, and vivid depictions of nature, such as in The Old Vicarage, Grantchester. Love and Mortality: His non-war verses explore sensual love, heartbreak, human relationships, and a sharp, melancholic awareness of the fleeting nature of life. Copyright © Sidgwick and Jackson.
