Our mystery begins in Richmond, Virginia.Janis Lyn Pereda is pissed. Two days before her sixteenth birthday, she was murdered. She thinks. If only she could remember what happened and get someone to believe her. Right now, she's stuck with Jayan Mati, a grumpy forensic pathologist who's actually a reaper living in exile. But Jay won't listen. He thinks Janis just needs to find her ferryman and then he'll be done with her. Ghosts are no longer his responsibility, anyway. At a crime scene, the two stumble onto a dark conspiracy that goes well beyond a ghost without a ferryman. Jay and Janis are thrust into a twisting mystery that winds across a supernatural America and even to some places beyond. The unlikely companions travel alongside a disgruntled fox fae, a reluctant demigod, a memory-challenged psychic, and a not-so-friendly demon as they unravel the threads of corruption in the fae courts.Join Janis and Jay in a world where faeries deal in contracts, forgotten deities linger on darkened street corners, and demons rule in underground bars. Discover that sometimes the most formidable power is found in those we choose to stand beside.Perfect for fans of the found family trope and for readers who want to see a diverse cast, female protagonists, and non-binary characters. Janis and the Reaper is a young adult coming of age urban fantasy novel taking place all over a magical America with queer and POC representation.…
