Paperback. In an era of exploding data volumes and cross-organizational analytics, enterprises can no longer afford isolated data silos. Collaborative Data Ecosystems explores the architectural, operational, and strategic frameworks required to build and sustain secure, governed, and economically viable data-sharing networks-ranging from internal federated programs to external data marketplaces. Authored by Benedict Hawthorne, this advanced guide targets data platform architects, chief data officers, governance leads, and partnership managers who are designing or scaling collaborative initiatives. The book provides in-depth coverage of data product lifecycle management, interoperable sharing protocols, revenue and cost-sharing models, trust frameworks, and regulatory compliance in multi-party environments. Through rigorous analysis of real-world patterns, technical standards, and economic incentives, readers gain actionable frameworks for evaluating partnership viability, implementing clean-room technologies, orchestrating marketplace operations, and measuring ecosystem health. Whether establishing a data mesh across business units, launching a commercial data exchange, or joining industry consortia, this book equips leaders with the sophisticated tools needed to transform data from a cost center into a strategic, shared asset.
