Paperback. STOP US IF YOU'VE BEEN HERE BEFORE.We were strangers to one another. We were George and Anne. In 2025, on the summer solstice weekend, an aquatic craft froze us both inside a dawn-to-dawn loop.Which will last generations before spitting us out. We'll never be the same when it does. The anniversaries of our tragedy are elaborate games played on our small town's sorry citizens. After all these years, it's our best attempt to feel something. But we don't exactly see eye to eye lately. So we're less ready today to remember what time taught us: Some days just don't work out. A speculative fiction novel told chiefly from the point of view of a small town, unaware that they are being manipulated by two people who have been trapped in a time loop. This 24-hour iteration of the time loop will be especially vicious. This item is printed on demand. The consequential last day in a time loop that scars reality.
STOP US IF YOU'VE BEEN HERE BEFORE.
We were strangers to one another. We were George and Anne. In 2025, on the summer solstice weekend, an aquatic craft froze us both inside a dawn-to-dawn loop.
Which will last generations before spitting us out. We’ll never be the same when it does.
The anniversaries of our tragedy are elaborate games played on our small town’s sorry citizens. After all these years, it’s our best attempt to feel something.
But we don't exactly see eye to eye lately. So we’re less ready today to remember what time taught us:
Some days just don’t work out.
Kirkus Reviews says:
"In their debut novel, Sealy presents an intriguing and dizzying story with a wide ensemble of memorable characters. Overall, the plot is imaginative and compelling throughout. It does . . . manage to work in nearly every hot-button issue of the past few years, from the Covid-19 pandemic to ICE to generative AI and even the Israel-Palestine conflict—and it does so in ways that readers may find excessively moralistic. Still, the narrative offers a wide-ranging view of the action as the mayhem intriguingly unfolds through multiple perspectives—mostly those of George and Anne, Vada, Arturo, Quinn, and Gets." - Kirkus Reviews
