Item description from seller

[NONE] 1985. (hardcover) Very good in very good dust jacket. 215pp. 4to. Spanish text. In 1965, the Grolier Codex was found in Mexico. The story has been well-told, and the Mayan screenfold manuscript is noted to be pre-Columbian. Known as the Maya Codex of Mexico, the Grolier Codex, or Saenz Codex, in 2018, it was renamed officially as the Codice Maya de Mexico. There are only 4 known Maya codices, and the one described in these pages is the only one still to be in the Americas. This tome includes an introduction and bibliography written by Thomas A. Lee, Jr., and includes prints of Justin Kerr's colour photographs, which have been copyrighted. Jacket in loose mylar protective sleeve. Harvest gold, pebbled buckram, gilt titles stamped to front and spine. Internally clean, tight, bright, solid. Beautiful. Edicion Conmemorativa X Aniversario.

Store description

Established in 1970. We specialize in Prairie Canadiana (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta), Travel & Exploration, The North, and Aboriginal Peoples ("North American Indian"). Although these areas comprise the main sections in the store, they are by no means our only focus! We boast an impressive Literature section, a vast array of Art Books and Gallery Catalogues, a respectable offering of Science & Medicine titles, and drool-worthy cabinets of antiquarian tomes (of course). A member of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association of Canada (ABAC), the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB), and the National Archival Appraisal Board of Canada (NAAB). We do appraisals, for insurance purposes, institutional, or otherwise. Open by chance or appointment. Feel free to call or email!…
