Michael J. Halvorson, Ph.D., is Benson Chair of Business and Economic History at Pacific Lutheran University, where he teaches courses on the history of business, computing, and technology. He has written widely on European history, application software, and programming personal computers, including the popular series Microsoft Visual Basic Step by Step, Pearson (2013).
