To prove her French friend's innocence, she dangerously jumps into the fray, jeopardizing more than her life. A perfect match from two perfect families, nothing could stop this inevitable union that had been planned for years.
That was... until Lord Derrick Brinsley arrived.
Lord Brinsley; shunned by the Ton for running away with his brother’s fiancé, is the last person that Amelia wants to associate herself with. Yet when one, impassioned and unyielding kiss is stolen at the winter ball, Amelia can’t seem to keep Lord Brinsley off her mind.
And he feels the same way.
Having been cast out of 'society' for one thoughtless mistake, Lord Brinsley was utterly contemptuous of the Ton and their endless social 'rules'... But then he met the beguiling Amelia Bonnington. Now he will stop at nothing to earn the Ton's good graces so he might possess this red-haired beauty that has captured his heart.
As fiery tensions build, Amelia unwittingly becomes embroiled in espionage when she stumbles upon a diamond smuggling ring in the modiste shop of her best friend. To prove her French friend's innocence, she dangerously jumps into the fray, jeopardizing her security, reputation, and her life.
And she's not the only one in danger.
On undercover assignment to prevent the French from stealing the Royal Navy's deadly weapon, Derrick must fight to protect British secrets from falling into the hands of foreign agents.
However the year is 1803, and England is at war with France- and in times of war, love is never easy. Especially when you’re a British spy.
Can these two unlikely matches escape the danger that befalls them? Or will they be destined to a fate of loss, danger, and loneliness?
