Fifteen-year-old Phillip is shocked to find that his old friend, tailor Naji Najeem, may have just deliberately sent him to a Victorian Steampunk town with the hopes that he could unite the people for one last stand against the oppressors. Accompanied by his best friend and his new tinydog companion, he faces a dangerous world of eccentric inventors, clockwork machinery, deadly metalwork creatures, and airships piloted by killer Automatons.
Isn't he still searching for that one family member who is missing? Or is the temptation to serve as the chosen leader too much to turn down? Can he champion the fight for freedom and risk losing the chance to ever go home again? Read this thrilling sequel to The Clockwork Adventures, Part One; The Search for Norwall in the second book in this seven-part series! As in Book One, artwork adorns the beginning of each chapter.
This beautifully illustrated version of The Clockwork Adventures features concept art and character development profiles critical to this story in a separate section at the back of the book. In The Story Continues..., see how this sequel expanded upon the foundations of The Clockwork Adventures, Part One: The Search for Norwall. In Character Development, learn how the author, in collaboration with the illustrator, created memorable characters. In The Places of Norwall, get a deep dive into the world-building of the steampunk world our heroes find themselves in. Enjoy a special behind-the-scenes look at early versions of the illustrations within the book, and learn about the process of taking these illustrations from an idea to a finished artwork! Our tinydog companion, Pebby, finds herself again, the center of attention! Here is an excerpt: from the book
Pebby, splendid in her beloved derby and gear-vest, happily looked out on the crowd of bakers as the entire work floor came to a complete silence. Even the Automaton guards were quiet. Suddenly more than one hundred white hats flew into the air, accompanied by raucous cheering and clapping. Their beloved little vagabond had returned home.
