An introduction to genealogy offers readers information on tracing a family's heritage, explaining how to use Internet resources to aid one's search, and including tips for nontraditional families and special situations.

Climbing Your Family Tree reflects my passion for this exciting hobby -- the fun and rewards of tracing your family heritage. I originally wrote the book ten years ago. This new edition includes not only tons of information about the internet, but also a fresh look at how people from today's complex families -- blended families, step-families, adoptive and single-parent families, etc. -- can do family research with pride and with charts and record-keeping formats that help them show, without apology, who they are. The book is filled with examples of kids and adults who discovered fascinating things about themselves and their families -- and many many suggestions for how readers can do that, too.
