Very good clean tight sound square, no bookplates, inscriptions or marks of any kind, well held in joints and hinges, clean crisp corners and edges, spines very good with no reading creases, appear unopened and unread, single crease to upper joint Mountolive and very slight occasional rubbing to joints not intruding or detracting, a very good st with great shelf presence. The 4 volumes are uniformly bound in the distinctive Faber paperback style, and coloured red yellow green and blue with the original handprint illustration to uppers. A great critical and commercial success, Durrell's tetralogy was intended as 'a continuum', with the first three novels presenting the same events from three different perspectives, whilst the last shows change over time. Taken together, they form a great addition to the library of reader and scholar alike.
