The Class Number of Binary Quadratic Forms. This item is unavailable. The Class Number of Binary Quadratic Forms

"The Class Number of Binary Quadratic Forms" is a specialized mathematical study focusing on the arithmetic properties and classification of binary quadratic forms. Written by George Hoffman Cresse, this work explores the complex relationship between discriminants and class numbers, a central topic in the field of number theory. The text provides a detailed investigation into the methods of calculation and the theoretical frameworks that govern these forms, synthesizing historical progress with rigorous algebraic analysis.

Intended for advanced mathematicians and historians of science, "The Class Number of Binary Quadratic Forms" offers a thorough examination of a foundational area of study. The work clarifies the structural nuances of quadratic forms, contributing to the broader understanding of algebraic integers and the distribution of class numbers. Its systematic approach makes it a valuable resource for those researching the development of early 20th-century mathematics and the enduring questions of arithmetic theory.
