About the Author:
Farhad Nomani is a professor and cochair of the Department of Economics at the American University of Paris and was a member of the Faculty of Economics at Tehran University from 1972 to 1983. He is the coeditor of Islam and Public Policy, coauthor of Islamic Economic Systems and The Secular Miracle: Religion, Politics, and Economic Policy in Iran, and author of The Development of Feudalism in Iran (in Persian).
Sohrab Behdad is a professor and the John E. Harris Chair in Economics at Denison University and was a member of the Faculty of Economics at Tehran University from 1972 to 1983. He is the former president of the Middle East Economic Association and a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Middle East Studies. He is the coeditor of Islam and Public Policy and Iran: Crisis of Islamic State and author of articles on the postrevolutionary economy of Iran and the critique of Islamic economics.
