A charming nineteenth-century book of reading lessons for everyday from January to June, in a full tree calf binding. The fourteenth edition of this scarce work; two parts in one volume, in a full tree calf binding with marbled edges.Ink inscription to the verso of the title page, dated 1894.Reading lessons selected, arranged and compiled from various authors for every day by the English author Eliza Fenwick (1767-1840), under the pseudonym of the Revered David Blair. This is the fourteenth edition of this work grouped into four quarterly parts; this volume contains the first and second parts. The first part of this class book contains reading lessons from 1st January until 31st March. The second part of this class book contains lessons from 1st April to 30th June. Reading lessons include subjects such as world history, natural history, and the building of a good character, from authors such as Johnson, Addison and Hume. In a full tree calf binding. Externally smart, with rubbing to the joints and extremities. Gilt to spine remains bright. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with occasional offsetting. Ink inscription to verso of title page has bled through a little. Very Good Indeed.
