Paperback. Jake Turner, bitter from a decade's old breakup, has gone to great lengths to separate from his home town and the memories that linger there. Alyssa George left that same little town to chase her dreams, finding herself halfway across the country with very few of those plans realized. The tragic, unexpected death of a mutual friend brings the two former lovers back to the same place they'd left twenty years before, coinciding with their 25th high school reunion. As Jake, Alyssa and several of their old friends gather to bury a former classmate, another member of the graduating class is found brutally murdered in a shocking hate crime. Their quaint little hometown is then rocked by a series of unexplained deaths, with one seemingly common thread. Every single life lost was at one time a member of Jake and Alyssa's inner circle. Through a series of current and flashback chapters, the story of two teenagers falling in love and coming of age blends into a tale of murder and intrigue. Jake, now a bounty hunter, helps a long-time friend, now a sheriff in his home town, try to unravel the deaths of their former classmates. Along the way, a decades old romance slowly begins to rekindle. Torn between bitter memories of home and a desire to protect the woman he once loved, Jacob Turner dives headlong into the mystery of who's killing the class of 1996. This item is printed on demand.
