Uncolored folding map of Texas in excellent condition with small holes at some fold junctions. Printed stiff wrappers. This is a fairly early road map of Texas for automobiles. Two text blocks. At bottom left is a four-column list of "Chief Auto HIghways of Texas, Shown on Map by Numbers." At top right is a five-column list: "How to Reach County Roads from Center of City." At the bottom is a 16-column index of cities and towns. Roads are all identified by number and keyed by class. While not specified, it is likely that third class roads were little more than dirt paths. This is a great snapshot of Texas roads long before the development of the Interstate Highway System. The date comes from the cover, which has a note indicating that this map was revised to March 1, 1925. There is no information about the maker or publisher aside from the name Clarke in the title.
