Poster. Lithograph. Linen backed. Measures 33 3/4" x 21 1/4" This powerful World War I fundraising poster was created by prominent illustrator Sidney H. Riesenberg for the United War Work Campaign's massive November 1918 drive. The charcoal-style illustration centers on an American soldier holding up his hand to grab the viewer's attention, set against a grim, chaotic backdrop of troops and weapons emerging from a trench. The United War Work Campaign took place on the week of November 11, 1918. This poster was issued by the Jewish Welfare Board, and features a blue star of David. In good condition, with some chips to edges, and minor creasing and loss to lower left quadrant. Mounted on canvas.
