From the Jim Crow South to the halls of Congress, this book traces the powerful stories of leaders and ordinary citizens who risked everything to challenge injustice. Discover the impact of landmark Supreme Court cases, the bravery of Freedom Riders and sit-in protesters, and the transformative power of legislation like the Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Act.
