Already well known in academic circles as author of books such as 'Total Man', 'The Neanderthal Question', 'The Double Helix of the Mind', 'The Paranormal' and 'Personality & Evolution', Stan Gooch has taken the original 1989 edition of Cities of Dreams and revised the text, for its message is as relevant today as when it was first published. This large format paperback contains additional illustrations and updated material, and while losing none of its scholarship, will appeal to all seekers of knowledge. Stan Gooch has contributed to this pool of knowledge with his particular viewpoint-the fact that we are not the first, others were here before us. His reconstruction of the lost civilisation which preceded our own is based on hard and accepted archaeological facts. For example: the extensive red ochre mines of southern Africa which existed 100,000-40,000 years Before Present; the 75,000 BP Bear Skull altar of Drachenloch in Switzerland and the 60,000 BP flower graves of Iraq bear witness to his claim.
Cities of Dreams is a gift to the reader. Your perception of world myths, legends and history will be challenged. You will be offered alternative ways of seeing and perceiving the information that you possess and thus be enabled to reassess your own world view. Cities of Dreams will open the way to a greater reality and that insight will stay with you forever-Gooch begins the vitally necessary dismantling of the sterile and altogether parochial view of human life within which current orthodox views hold us imprisoned.
Breathtaking in scope and originality, Cities of Dreams takes our legends and demonstrates the reality of these ancient stories. The Minotaur did live at the centre of the maze . . . Sleeping Beauty did waken to the knight's kiss . . . the fairy people did meet and dance in the moonlight . . . and Woman did rule the whole of magical Earth.
