Item description from seller

Book #3 in the 5-book juvenile series published 1910-1920 that featured the young orphan Phil Forrest, who is thrown out of his adoptive uncle's house & runs away with a friend to join the circus, where he accomplishes heroic & daring deeds. First published by Altemus, the series was issued with DJs & then in another hardcover version with a colorful front paper pastedown; with all titles later reprinted by Saalfield. This is a FIRST EDITION, unknown printing, from 1910 in the tan cloth-front paper pastedown version, in 256 pages with a frontispiece. Condition is Fair-Good: generally very clean, binding secure but slightly shaken, hinges intact. Front pastedown is heavily rubbed, with loss around edges. Rubbing to all extremities of book as well, with heavy bumping to all corners. Interior pages are creamy white with age-appropriate tanning, heavier around edges, completely unmarked. Special: buy any 2 books in this series, take 10% off, 3 or more, take 20% off! Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific time); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day.…
