Very well maintained. Small signs of wear but no tears, scratches or major flaws. This is a primary historical source written in the 12th century by a Norman monk named Robert de Torigni (also known as Robert de Monte). It covers the political history of the Norman Kings of England and the early Plantagenet/Angevin empire, particularly the reign of King Henry II. Vital for researchers focusing on the Anglo-Norman world between 1100–1186. This chronicle is an essential resource for understanding the complex relationship between England and Normandy. It serves as a premier historical authority on the continental actions of the later Norman Kings and the early monarchs of the House of Plantagenet, featuring detailed records from the turbulent reign of King Henry II.Translated by 19th-century archivist Joseph Stevenson, this text provides an invaluable, eyewitness-level window into the political intrigues of the 12th century. Condition: Almost new condition. Some sunfading on the covers and cracks on the spine with minimal light pencil marks in afew pages by previous owner. Copyright © Llanerch.…
