Ware and Richard Buchar(?), and ownership seals, good. Pelliot was one of the pre-eminent Sinologists of this time and is best known for his work on the medieval manuscripts discovered in the Dunhuang caves. In this chapter he analyzes a fragment from those caves, the Shang shu shi wen (????), Pelliot fonds 3315 at the Bibliotheque Nationale.
