Print on Demand. This book, set at the turn of the twentieth century, follows the story of John Cornwall, a young lawyer from Louisville, Kentucky who relocates to the Appalachian mountains to handle legal matters for a coal company. Immersed in the region's distinct culture and traditions, he befriends a local family and becomes involved in a murder case involving one of their own. Through the trial, the author delves into the complexities of the justice system, challenging our notions of right and wrong as he exposes the biases and complexities of the local legal system. Ultimately, the book offers a deeply moving and nuanced exploration of community, identity, and the search for justice in a rapidly changing world. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.
