Small 8vo. Hardcover. Pp. 214. In very good condition; green cloth binding with minimal shelf-wear. Slight rubbing to spine ends and mild bumping to the corners. Faint marks and scuffs to the cover. Pages themselves are clean and unmarked with light foxing. Illustrated with various b/w photographs. Based on the author's fifty year sojourn in China. The author lived mostly in Shanghai, but traveled through the country, collecting notes on things relating to Chinese culture, which eluded most other foreigners.
