New Edition. 466 pages. No dust jacket. Red textured cloth with gilt titles to spine and front. With additions by Barbara R Bartlett. Text block edges are decoratively speckled. Pages have slight foxing, tanning and minor thumbing. Gutters and hinges somewhat cracked with some exposed netting. Shaky binding. Foxing and tanning more noticeable towards start and end of book and on text block edges. Previous owner's inscription to front endpaper. A few dog-eared corners. P43 misprinted over a crease but text remains legible. Some minor pencil marginalia. A few small edge tears but not affecting text. Boards have some edge wear, with slight bumping and fraying to corners, while spine ends are moderately crushed and rubbed. Slightly scratched, rubbed and marked overall. Book has a moderate forward lean. Spine is slightly sunned, stained and rubbed. Gilt is bright.
