Item description from seller

1st thus. Thin grey card covers, black lettering to front cover. 8.75ins x 5.5ins, 14pp. Up to page seven comprises title page and introduction. Thereafter the main article is a reprint of a broadside in rhyming verse, "shewing how one Mrs Johnson's child of Barnet, was tempted of the Devil to forsake God, and follow the ways of other wicked children, who used to swear, tell lies, and disobey their parents. How this pretty innocent child resisting Satan, was comforted by an angel from heaven who warned her of her approaching death. Together with her dying words, desiring young children not to forsake God, lest Satan would gain power over them." This is part of a series of pamphlets produced by Gerish with the generic title "Hertfordshire Folk Lore", this being no 15. Previous owners signature to half title page. Some foxing. Overall a G+ copy of a scarce item.
