Print on Demand. This book offers insights into the chemical reactions that can cause damage to castable refractories found in modern coal gasification reactors. The author examines two types of commonly used castables and subjects them to a variety of coal gasification conditions. Detailed descriptions of the experimental set-up and methods used are given. The results of these experiments provide an in-depth understanding of the chemical reactions and transformations that can occur in the castable refractories as well as insights into how to choose and use these materials. The findings presented in this book are significant for the development and improvement of coal gasification reactor systems and for making these systems more efficient and cost-effective. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
