Hardcover. River deltas are among the planets most dynamic and vulnerable landscapes. These shallow yet highly productive environments sustain millions of people, support critical biodiversity, and underpin major economic activities - but they are also under intensifying pressure from human development, climate change, and environmental degradation. Managing them sustainably requires a deep, interdisciplinary understanding of the forces that shape them. The Changing Function of River Deltas - Cross-Disciplinary Perspectives brings together cutting-edge insights from leading scientists around the world to illuminate the latest developments in delta studies. Covering themes such as climate change impacts, water quality, geomorphology, sedimentation, flocculation, ecosystem dynamics, and the social dimensions of delta management, this volume offers a comprehensive and authoritative overview of the state of the field. Whether you are a researcher, practitioner, or policymaker, The Changing Function of River Deltas - Cross-Disciplinary Perspectives provides an essential resource for understanding, managing, and protecting one of Earths most vital and threatened systems.
