Empowering and hopeful, this vividly illustrated guide to the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals shows young readers how they can participate in making the world a better place–for themselves and for others.
In 2015, 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by all United Nations Member States as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Each goal addresses a specific aspect of global challenges and aims to promote social, economic, and environmental sustainability. This book explains each of these goals through compelling illustrations paired with brief descriptions that will spark curiosity and conversation about creating a sustainable and inclusive world. Vibrant images from a wide array of cultures and backgrounds will inspire young people to reflect on important issues, such as poverty and climate change, access to healthcare and education, equality and economic stability. While these are big goals, this book encourages even the smallest readers to embrace the notion that they, too, can be champions for a better, more sustainable future.
