Identified by palm tree and boat on 54mm width spine (later reprinted with 48mm spine); galleon on front cover, and map endpapers. 286 pages. Light blue cloth covers. Front cover is clean with two spots and light brown smudge (on sea) - 2 bumps - middle bottom and bottom corner. Back cover clean with slight staining to upper left and two faint brown smudges. Spine has darkened. Book is tight. Frontispiece coming away from text block. Pages are clean, bright and unmarked. Occasional light foxing. Bottom of text block has foxing but absent top and side. Hard back binding in publisher's original pale blue cloth covers, navy lettering and two feather arrows pointing vertically up the spine, repeat Viking ship and modern liner motif to the left side of the front cover, top edge dyed blue but fading, end paper maps. 8vo. 1.9'' thick 5.25'' x 7.5'' with one asterisk to the half title page. 286 printed pages of text. Colour frontispiece and six black and white illustrations by H. Gooderham. Eight listed stories by W. E. Johns to the book start with Biggles Flies East and ends with Biggles Air Commodore. Small ink name to the front free end paper, name and address to the verso of the front free end paper, a little spotting to the closed paged edges. Very Good condition book in Very Good condition price clipped dust wrapper with small nicks to the corners of the spine ends and one short closed tear to the top front gutter, spine colour very slightly sun faded, a very handsome copy.
