Bound with the original endpapers and a separate title to 'Hobbinol', also dated 1757. Pagination for 'Hobbinol' runs as issued according to ESTC notes (T67411).Illustrated with a frontispiece and seven plates. Collated, complete.One of the most famous and frequently reprinted poems on hunting, written in Miltonic blank verse. It traces the history of hunting up to the Norman Conquest of England, with reference to kennel design, hare hunting, stag hunting, otter hunting, and the breeding and training of dogs.Bound with 'Hobbinol, or The Rural Games', a mock-heroic poem dealing with country life in a very humorous manner.The well-known works of English poet William Somervile, noted for pioneering early English georgic.
